The rugged Hilux sports an aggressive front bumper, extended fender flares, and 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires
We’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter and TRD Pro, but truck fans in Japan can look forward to a rugged Hilux Revo Rocco Edition.
Set to be launched in May, the special edition is described as a “tough buddy” with an “aggressive personality.” As part of the makeover, the truck has been equipped with a rugged front bumper, distinctive fender flares, and a sport bar with integrated lighting. They’re joined by “Rocco” graphics, a skid plate, and black 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.
The Hilux also sports a unique grille that is flanked by special LED headlights, which have metallic accents. They’re joined by contrasting black flourishes, a bed liner, and a “lift assist” tailgate.
The special edition is based on the Hilux Z and comes equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fabric seats, and an 8-inch infotainment system. Buyers will also find a panoramic view monitor, lane departure alert, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian and bicyclist detection.
Power comes from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel drive system.
